She is currently working on her PhD thesis, \u201c<em>Fundamentalist Bidasoa, never again!<\/em> Violent Identity-building. Practices, Discourses and Resistances in the Alardes of Ir\u00fan and Hondarribia, 1993-2008\u201d,in the framework of the PhD contemporary history programme of the UPV\/EHU, under the supervision of Miren Llona.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">In her PhD thesis, Bengoetxea examines the expulsion of the followers of an egalitarian Alarde from the community of the <em>people<\/em> and the construction of the <em>other<\/em> through violence, stigmatisation and the emotions.
