Collaboration with the Michoacan University of Saint Nicholas of Hidalgo, Mexico
The collaboration with the Michoacan University of Saint Nicholas of Hidalgo was carried out through research stays in the Experiencia Moderna group at the UPV-EHU.
Professor Adriana Sàenz Valadez, of the ‘Dr Samuel Ramos’ School of Philosophy at the Michoacan University of Saint Nicholas of Hidalgo. This expert on Philosophy of Culture and Literary Theory was an invited professor in our research group for a period of six months, between January and July 2018.
The group hosts and mentors foreign students from other universities
- Mónica Lorena Murillo Acosta (Michoacan University of Saint Nicholas of Hidalgo) from 9 June to 9 August 2014.
- Margarita Fuentes Velázquez, (Michoacan University of Saint Nicholas of Hidalgo) undertook a post-doctoral research stay within the framework of the project entitled ‘La crítica de las creencias sobre conyugalidad y maternidad en Rosario Castellanos y Graciela Hierro’, from 1 September to 15 to December 2012.
- Laura Yazmín Andrés Arredondo (Michoacan University of Saint Nicholas of Hidalgo), within the framework of the project ‘La identidad de la mujer de la élite moreliana 1940-1970’, from 3 September to 14 December 2012.

In the context of the 20th Conference of the German Association of Hispanists, held in Heidelberg, Germany, March 2015. As a result of this, they are part of the research group funded by MINECO (2016-2020).

Student exchange programme co-taught by the Experiencia Moderna research group and California State University Monterey in collaboration with Professor Juan J. Gutiérrez, PhD, Professor of Anthropology Division of Social Behavioural and Global Studies, California State University, Monterey Bay (California, USA), (2015-2019).
Collaboration with the Red Renisce (National Network of Researchers in Sociocultural Studies of the Emotions)
This is an initiative led by researchers Oliva López Sánchez and Rocío Enriquez Rosas, of the Iztacala School of Higher Studies at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and the Jesuit University of Guadalajara (ITESO), respectively.
Mercedes Arbaiza and David Beorlegi participated by giving two lectures at the 3rd and 4th Research Colloquium:
Emotions in the framework of the social sciences: interdisciplinary perspectives, held in Mexico City (2014) and Jalisco (2016), respectively.

- Miren Llona was vice president of IOHA from 2010-2014. She was also co-editor of the IOHA newsletter (2008-).
- David Beorlegui was vice president of IOHA and the representative of the European region. He is currently co-editor of the bilingual electronic journal Words and Silences/Palabras y Silencios.
